Frequently asked questions

The questions we are asked most often on first calls, answered in full. If yours is not here, ask us directly.

Where is Lios Technology Group based?

We work from 205 West 9th Street, Austin, Texas 78701. On-site support is included as standard for clients in the greater Austin area, and we support clients remotely across the continental United States.

Who owns the company?

Lios Technology Group LLC is owned and led by Daniel Johnson, who founded the firm in April 2016 and remains involved in every new engagement.

How do I get in touch outside business hours?

Managed clients receive an on-call number for P1 incidents that is answered 24 hours a day. All other enquiries reach us at support@lios.mtechmpl.com or +1 (804) 289-2596 during business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM Central Time.

What does a managed agreement include?

Remote helpdesk, monitoring, patching, backup management, endpoint security, Microsoft 365 administration and a monthly service report. Exact inclusions are listed in your statement of work before you sign.

Is there a minimum contract term?

No. After a 30-day onboarding period, managed agreements run month to month and can be ended by either party with 30 days written notice.

How much does it cost?

Managed support is $89 to $189 per user per month depending on the plan, with a 10-user minimum. Project work is quoted as a fixed fee. All published rates are on our pricing page.

Do you mark up software licences?

No. Microsoft, security and backup licences are passed through at supplier cost. Hardware carries a disclosed 8% procurement and configuration fee, or you can buy it yourself.

Do you sign non-disclosure agreements?

Yes, routinely, and we can provide our own mutual NDA if you do not have one. We also sign business associate agreements where protected health information is in scope.

What happens to our data if we leave?

You receive full credential handover, exported documentation and network diagrams within ten business days of your final service date. We remove our monitoring agents and delete client data in line with our privacy policy retention schedule.

Do you support Mac and Linux?

Yes. Around a fifth of the endpoints we manage are macOS, and we support Linux servers for workloads that need them.

Can you work alongside our internal IT person?

Frequently. Co-managed arrangements are common: your person keeps the day-to-day relationship and we cover after-hours, projects, or specialist areas like security.

How quickly can you onboard us?

Discovery normally starts within five business days of a signed proposal, and a standard onboarding takes two to four weeks depending on the size of the environment.

Do you offer any guarantees?

We publish response targets and report our performance against them monthly. We do not promise outcomes we cannot control, such as guaranteed prevention of every security incident — any provider who does is overselling.

Are you hiring?

Occasionally. Send a note to support@lios.mtechmpl.com with what you do and we will keep it on file; we hire slowly and almost always from applications we already have.

Still weighing up providers?

Ask us for three client references in a comparable industry. We will introduce you and step out of the conversation.
